Hand drawn stop motion

This is even different technique. My tools were a piece of paper, pastels and a camera. I took photographs of each step. This is the outcome:

I'm quite happy with it but I can't understand why is there a stop of movement at the start.

I've managed to do it on all of the layers by creating an action that I've played over each layer.

Another technique

This time I've created the animation by scanning the swirls each time I drew something to them. This took a lot of time and the outcome doesn't satisfy me at all. I know for sure I will not use this technique in my final piece.

I've animated the title of this blog and I've tried to upload the final giff instead of the title still image but even playing around with HTML codes didn't help. This is why I've decided just to post it here:

I have created it on photoshop with animation option. I feel most comfortable animating in photoshop. The way I have done it was by rubbing the bits of the writing on each copied layer and reversing it at the end. This gave me 144 layers. The aim of it was to create the feeling that this was written.

Experiment

These two works above are by Laura Varsky. They have inspired me by the shape and colour of the swirls and the composition.

I know that my response to those is not perfect but I thought I could mix Laura's illustrative style with photo. This is what I want to do at the end anyway. To create my response I have used a photograph with a filter on it and hand drawn swirls with use of colour markers scanned and joined with the photo on photoshop.
